My paternal grandfather worked in a bookbinder, my maternal grandfather is an unabashed bibliophile and both of my grandmothers are voracious readers. My parents inherited their love and passed it on to me.

I can be found spinning non-metaphoric yarns on my spinning wheel and knitting with the results. I'm very into the fiber arts. They are relaxing and meditative. Some of my best ideas have sparked in the middle of a knit or purl stitch.
My husband and I moved from Chicago to Alaska in 2005. We live in the north of Fairbanks with an English Mastiff, Princess Dinah, who enjoys mosquito-infested summer walks and frostbite-inducing winter walks.
