I know, I tried to prioritize this year & be good, but my suitcase is nearly bursting! It was so much fun to sit & talk with you, I’m glad the presenter didn’t show up. (I do hope everything is okay with her.) Hopefully we can have you up to Fairbanks for an event after Snow Child is released. I look forward to reading it on the plane.

Hi Annie — It was so much fun meeting you at PNBA! I’m packing up all the wonderful books I collected at the show, and trying to figure out how I’m going to lug them back to Alaska I hope I see you again soon on the book trail. And I’m going to look up your short story in the Pacific Northwest Reader as soon as I get back to Fireside Books. Can’t wait to read it!

Sounds like a fun, even if exhausting day. That is a bit of the excitement of natural dyeing – never being able to fully predict what’s going to come out. Too bad about the logwood – (I wonder if something alkalinizing got into the bath). From my experience, an exhaust bath often doesn’t have as much color left in it as it looks it might have. I’m sure re-mordanting and dying will save the batch.
Thanks for the post – I love seeing stuff about natural dyes.

I know, right? But bug juice is ubercool. It was definitely a throw-back to childhood. I wonder what other cool dyes you can get from bugs.

Yay! Congrats! How many Nano’s is this for you? I think I’ve started 4 and finished 2, as long as you don’t count all the years I wanted to do it but never went further than that.
